The Rev. Joseph Ward Jr., 79, of 6007 McDougal Drive, Fayetteville, and formerly of Washington, died Monday, May 19, 2008.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Anderson Temple Church of God in Christ. Burial will follow in Rockfish Memorial Park.
Mr. Ward was married to Lois Ward, who survives.
Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Perkin and Emma Robinson; four sons, Joseph Ward III, Miriam Ward, Phillip Ward and Elijah Ward; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and three brothers, Samuel, George and William.
The body will be placed in the church two hours prior to the service.
Arrangements are by Wiseman Mortuary, Fayetteville.
