Lois Ange Gibbs, 74, of 464 Lazy Lane, Engelhard, died Thursday, May 29, 2008 at her home.
Born in Hyde County, February 13, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Olivia Williams Ange. She was married to Hugh “Buddy” Gibbs, Jr., who survives. She was an avid high school basketball player and devoted several years of her life to the nursing field before becoming a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the family plot in Brooks Cemetery in the Gull Rock Community. Scott Sukeforth will officiate.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Lori Gasparrini Fijal and two sons, Gino Gasparrini and Paul Gasparrini all of Massachusetts; a step-daughter, Shannon Gibbs Mooney of Belhaven; two step sons, Linwood Gibbs III of Garner and Kevin B. Gibbs of Greenville; a sister, Dorothy Ange Williams of Sladesville; eight grandchilden including Brandi, the dog; a very special friend, Lucille S. Jones of Engelhard.
