Coach Roy Bond of Windsor, N.C., died Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Norfolk General Hospital, Va. He was a retired coach for the Bertie County Schools. Coach Bond was the nephew of Mrs. Hattie Johnson and cousin of Dr. Jackie Garner, both of Washington, N.C.
The funeral service will be held 1 p.m. at Bertie Senior High School on Thursday, June 19, 2008.
