Cletis Ormond Guthrie, son of Nelson and Helen G. Guthrie was born August 18, 1963 in Washington, N.C. He departed this life on May 8, 2008, in Baltimore, Md.
A celebration of his life will be held today at 2 p.m. in Beebe Memorial C.M.E. Church, Washington, with Pastor Kadri Webb officiating.
At an early age, Cletis served as Sunday school superintendent, Beebe Memorial Church. He graduated Washington High School in 1981 and entered the U.S. Navy from 1981-1985. After his military career ended, he became a technical advisor for various computer firms. At the time of his death, he was employed by Micros Systems Inc., Columbia, Md., as a technical supervisor.
He leaves to mourn in addition to his parents, his grandmother, Georgia Gorham of Washington, N.C.; one sister, Denise Blue; four aunts, six uncles, and a host of cousins, and dear friends. In addition he left four daughters-in-kind, Courtney, Chanel, La’Kiera, and Lovely.
