Mr. Wiley Brown Waters, age 9, a resident of 651 Waters Road, Pinetown, died Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Beaufort County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Hunters Bridge Church of Christ, conducted by Arthur “Bud” Ball. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Jay Waters, Justin Waters, Eddie Tetterton, C.H. Tetterton, Gene Alligood, Rodger Register and Wayne Radcliffe.
Mr. Waters was born in Pinetown on March 23, 1912. He was the son of the late Jay H. Waters and Estelle Paul Waters. Mr. Waters was a retired farmer. He was a member of Hunters Bridge Church of Christ and the Hunters Bridge Hunting Club. Mr. Waters was an outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt.
Mr. Waters was married to the former Edith Gurkins, who survives.
Surviving with his wife are his daughter, Linda Waters Page of Greenville; his grandson, Kenneth Page and his wife, Susan, of Raleigh; his sister, Hallie Alligood of Elizabeth City; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Waters was preceded in death by two brothers, Hubert Waters and Bryan Waters, and three sisters, Mary Radcliffe, Sarah Price and Pauline Olson.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2008, at Paul Funeral Home, Washington, and other times at the home, 651 Waters Road, Pinetown.
