Mr. Vernon Lee Gregory, 96, of 2180 Pike Road, Pantego, died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Autumnfield of Belhaven.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Union Grove Church of Christ with Rupert Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Davis Cemetery with graveside Masonic rites. J.B. Bell, Zeno Wright, Vernon Bell, Bennie Rose, William Jackson and Joe Allen will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Gregory was born in Deep Creek, Va., on May 8, 1912. He was the son of the late Colen and Jessie Waller Gregory. He was a graduate of Deep Creek High School in Deep Creek, Va. He was married to Martha Dunn Gregory, who preceded him in death May 23, 1987. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Belhaven Masonic Lodge No. 509, A.F. &A.M. He was a member of Union Grove Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, John R. Gregory of Pantego, and Paul W. Gregory of Chesapeake, Va.; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home, Belhaven.
