Mrs. Mildred Audrey Hunter, 64, of 1302 East Way Drive, Elizabeth City, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at 105 Hoggards Court, Plymouth.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Hebron A.M.E. Zion Church in Plymouth with the Rev. Keith Lane Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Ellis Lee Cemetery in Plymouth.
Mrs. Hunter was born Oct. 8, 1943 in Washington County. She was the daughter of Sherman and the late Rosebud Garret Hunter. She was a teacher in the Edenton-Chowan public schools. She was a member of the National Education Association and the Elizabeth State University Alumni Association.
Survivors include one son, Jason Hunter of Rocky Mount; her father, Sherman Hunter of Plymouth; two grandchildren, Caden and Carleo; one sister, Eleanor Hunter of The Bronx, N.Y., and a host of cousins, students, coworkers and friends.
Puckett-Purkett Funeral Service in Roper is serving the Hunter family.
