Mr. Jerry Wayne Hamlett, 66, of West Millpond Road, Roper, died Sunday, July 6, 2008, at his home.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Walker Funeral Home-Horner Chapel. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Mr. Hamlett was born June 13, 1942 in Danville, Va. He was the son of the late Clemeth Osten Hamlett and Elaine Dooley Hamlett. He served in the National Guard and was a retired insulator with Carolina Sheet Metal. He was a member of Mt. Zion FWB Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Michelle H. Oliver of Pantego; one son, Robert W. Hamlett of Jacksonville, Fla., and five grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie E. Hamlett.
The family will receive friends at Walker Funeral Home-Horner Chapel from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and other times at the home, 338 W. Millpond Road, Roper.
