Mrs. Esther Wynne Whitley, 81, of Williamston died Sunday, July 6, 2008.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, Williamston. Private interment will take place at a later date.
Mrs. Whitley was born in Martin County on Feb. 27, 1927. She was the daughter of the late James Arthur Wynne and Frances Ann Wynne. On Aug. 28, 1947, she married John Whitley, who survives. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church, Williamston.
Survivors include two sons, John D. Whitley of Ocala, Fla., and Samuel Whitley of Williamston; one sister, Margaret Clark of Everetts; two brothers, George C. Wynne and Dillon Wynne, both of Williamston; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at the home of her son, Samuel Whitley, 24125 N.C. Highway 125, Williamston.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Williamston.
