Mr. Sylvester Norman, 85, of 1341 Paradise Road, Edenton, died Friday, July 4, 2008, at Britthaven Nursing Home in Edenton.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Shiloh Disciples Church of Christ with Elder Daniel Gilliam officiating. Burial will follow in Moore Cemetery, Roper.
Mr. Norman was born in Washington County on Nov. 27, 1922. He was the son of the late Commle James and Richard Norman. He was married to Inez Moore, who survives. He had worked as a machine operator.
Survivors include two sons, Paul Norman of Georgia and Leon Norman of Roper; three daughters, Dorothy Davis of Roper, Silestine Norman of New Jersey and Glenda Norman of Jacksonville; two sisters, Pauline Culler of Philadelphia, Pa., and Ora Allen of New York; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Rowsom Funeral Home, Columbia.
