Mr. Charles Willard Batson, 77, of 215 Hollis Drive, Blounts Creek, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at home.
Mr. Batson was born in Macon, Ga., on Dec. 6, 1930. He was the son of the late John and Mae Brooks Batson. He served in the Army Air Corps. He was married to the former Frances Mildred Doss, who preceded him in death May 9, 2001. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was retired from Southeast Air Gas.
Survivors include one son, John Terrell Batson of Winterville and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Philip Dean Batson; one brother, Lamar Batson and one sister, Laverne Dixon.
The family will receive friends today from 6-7 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home, Washington.
