Mrs. Gale Violeata Pledger Tatem, 49, of 410 Westover Hill, Richmond, Va., died Saturday, July 5, 2008, in Richmond, Va.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Alligator Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy McPherson officiating. Burial will follow in Community Cemetery, Columbia.
Mrs. Tatem was born in Tyrrell County on Nov. 26, 1958. She was the daughter of Lula Spruill Pledger and Floyd Pledger Sr. She was married to Jimmie Tatem Jr., who survives. She worked security at Hathaway Towers.
Survivors include two sons, Tyrese Pledger and Jimmie Tatem Jr., both of Richmond, Va.; one daughter, Tasha Tatem of Richmond, Va.; one brother, Gary Pledger of Creswell; three sisters, Shiron Pledger and Shelia Pledger, both of Columbia, and Mary Nixon of Virginia and two grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Rowsom Funeral Home, Columbia.
