Lynda Roberts Layton, 58, died Wednesday July 16, 2008.
A graveside service will be conducted on Friday at 11 a.m. in Greenwood Cemetery officiated by Rev. Ron Braxton.
Lynda, a native of Pitt County, graduated from Winterville High School and had attended East Carolina University. She was employed for approximately 11 years with Perdue Farms. For the past 5 years she had been a resident of the Aurora community of Beaufort County, and was a member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Lynda was an avid reader.
Lynda was preceded in death by her father, Milton Louis Roberts; a sister, Bonnie Roberts Hines; and a niece, Jessie Lee Pollard.
She is survived by her: mother, Margaret May Roberts of Aurora; son, Christopher Scott Layton of Rocky Mount; daughter, Jamie Lynne Layton of Rocky Mount; brother, Milton L. Roberts II and wife, Anette, of Aurora; sisters, Connie Roberts Mills and husband, Bobby, of Farmville, Victoria Roberts Hardee and husband, Stoney, of Black Jack and Katheleen Roberts Reingruber and husband, Kenneth, of Virginia Beach, VA; granddaughter, Lauren Ashley Layton of Rocky Mount; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service and at her home, 23 Doe Circle, Aurora.
