Mrs. Bettie Bullock Meeks, 83, a resident of 1304 SE 2nd Street, Snow Hill, N.C., died Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Britthaven of Snow Hill.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Williamston with the Rev. Roger Leggett officiating. The men of the church will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Williamston, N.C.
Mrs. Meeks was born August 7, 1924 in Pitt County. She was the daughter of the late Jack and Maggie Bullock. She was married to Thurman Terry and Thomas, both preceding her in death. She was a homemaker and lived most of her life in Martin County. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Williamston, the Ladies Ministry and was on the building committee.
Survivors include two daughters, Millie Terry Drake of Greenville, and Jeanette “Carolyn” Terry Thompson of Seven Springs; three sons, David Terry of Bear Grass, Robert Terry of Washington, and Lonnie Terry of Robersonville; one brother, James Earl Bullock of Maysville; four sisters, Mavis Moore of Greenfield, Idaho, Janie Turner of Stephen City, Va., Christine Cowan of Grimesland, and Sadie Leary of Williamston; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by six sisters, Irene Bullock, Mageline Harris, Della Bullock Copeland, Sarah Harrison, Emma Louise Bullock and Vadie Bullock; and nine brothers, Georgie Bullock, John Henry Bullock, David Bullock, J.D. Bullock, Jack Bullock, Sammy Bullock, and Jimmy Bullock.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, July 21, 2008 at the First Penecostal Holiness Church of Williamston and other times at the home of David Terry, Goose Road in Beargrass.
