Mrs. Lizzie Mae James, 83, of 106 Apple Lane, Jamesville, died Friday, July 18, 2008, at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Uniontown Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) with Bishop Daniel Boston officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. James was born in Martin County on June 17, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Narlen and Willie Ann Knight Yarrell. She was married to Jimmy James, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Uniontown Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ).
Survivors include two sons, Charlie James of Jamesville and Dennis James of Mt. Vernon, N.Y.; one daughter, Joyce James Spruill of Plymouth; two brothers, Joseph Yarrell of Queens, N.Y., and James Yarrell of Brooklyn, N.Y., and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8 p.m. at Uniontown Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) and other times at the home of her daughter, Joyce J. Spruill, 112-A Albemarle Drive, Plymouth.
Arrangements are by Toodle’s Funeral Home, Plymouth.
