Mrs. Irene W. Rawls, 84, died on Friday, Aug. 1, 2008 at The Vintage Inn in Williamston.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the family plot in Martin Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jay Worsley and the Rev. J.N. Worsley officiating.
Her grandsons, Thomas Rawls, Mikey Rawls, Perry Rawls and Grady Rawls will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Rawls was born on Nov. 24, 1923 in Martin County. She was the daughter of the late Alexander and Effie Wynn Williams. She attended local schools and was married to William Raymond Rawls, who preceded her in death in 1997. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of West End Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, William Gary Rawls of Williamston, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Raymond Mitchell Rawls; a daughter, Donna Gayle Rawls; and a sister, Ruth Haislip.
The family will receive friends at Walker Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and other times at the home of her son on Everetts Road in Williamston.
