Mr. Marcus Lee Jones of 4130 Market Street Extension, Washington, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Leon Randolph Memorial Chapel in Leon Randolph Funeral Home, 208 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington with Elderess Matrica Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Whitfield &Whitley Cemetery.
Mr. Jones was born April 1, 1956, the son of Joe Willie and Lucille Whitley Jones. He attended the Beaufort County Schools. He was married to Eliza Jones, who survives.
Survivors include three daughters, Kim Carter of Blounts Creek, Matrica Lawrence of Washington and Audrey Fountain of Ahoskie; three sons, Samuel Kenlaw and Walter Kenlaw, both of Savannah, Ga., and Nathaniel Kenlaw of Ahoskie; two sisters, JoAnn Roberson of New Bern and Betty Lou Jones of Vanceboro; one brother, Jesse Jones of Chocowinity; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary J. Jones.
The family will receive friends today from 2-6 p.m. at Leon Randolph Funeral Home, 208 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington and other times at the home.
