EDENTON- Mrs. Teresa H. Jordan, 61, of Edenton, died on Friday at her home.
Mrs. Jordan was born in Edenton. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Anthony and Etta Hathaway.
Mrs. Jordan was a retired educator and worked for 30 years as an elementary school teacher at D.F. Walker and Swain elementary schools and two years in Smithfield, Va.
Survivors include her husband, John Issac Jordan; two daughters, Minister Lynetta Jordan of Elizabeth City, Anita Wallace of Edenton; one step daughter, Joivonni Ewing of Durham; three brothers, Anthony Hathaway of Edenton, Roger Hathaway of Hampton, Va., Rev. Gary Hathaway of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one sister, Rev. Edna Lawrence of Chesapeake, Va.; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 183 Old Hertford Road, Edenton and at a public viewing today from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at New Kadesh AME Zion Church, 1001 Badham Road, Edenton. Celebration services will be held on Monday at Edenton United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 225 Virginia Road, Edenton. Mrs. Jordan will lie in repose from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and the funeral will begin at noon.
The Jordan Family has entrusted services to Rowson Funeral Home, 104 North Oakum Street, Edenton.
