Mr. Joshua Littles Wiggins, 81, of 9603 U.S. Hwy 17 South, Chocowinity died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Paul Funeral Home of Washington officiated by pastors Henry Horne and Tad Tankard. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Billy Edwards, Jimmy Rowe, Tommy Rowe, Ramey Potter and Charles Clark will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Wiggins was born in Beaufort County on Aug. 11, 1927. He was the son of the late Johnny and Ida Lewis Wiggins. He married the former Elsie Vivian Taylor on Aug. 26, 1945, who preceded him in death July 30, 2004. He was a heavy equipment mechanic with Tidewater Equipment Company.
Survivors include a son: Larry Gene Wiggins of Chocowinity; two daughters: Cheryl Renee Wiggins and Karen Wiggins Stocks Rowe, both of Chocowinity; one brother: Mayhue Wiggins of Vanceboro; one sister: Lottie Bright of Chocowinity; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Teresa Wiggins Dixon; two brothers: Toler Wiggins and Hubert Wiggins and one sister: Ada Buck.
The family will receive friends today from 6-8:30 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and other times at the home.
