Lindsey Brickhouse, 78, and Nellie Brickhouse, 77, of 19335 N.C. Highway 94, Fairfield, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, in Fairfield.
A celebration of their lives will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, Edenton with burial following in Beaver Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Brickhouse was born in Gum Neck, the son of the late Mary Cahoon and Claude Brickhouse. Mrs. Brickhouse was born in Swan Quarter, the daughter of the late Laura C. Spruill and Nathan Cahoon. They owned and operated the Warbler Station for 22 years. Mr. Brickhouse was an Army veteran.
Survivors include three daughters, Susan Prather of Midlothian, Va., Shelia Hernandez of Richmond, Va., and Donna Smith of Culpeper, Va.; two sons, Ivy Darrell Brickhouse of Greensboro and Dwain Brickhouse of Washington; and six grandchildren. Mr. Brickhouse is also survived by two sisters, Louise Gandara of Midlothian, Va., and Rosa Twiddy of Manteo; and one brother, Richard Brickhouse of Nottaway, Va. Mrs. Brickhouse is also survived by three sisters, Lena Wheeler of New Bern, Mary Elizabeth Hellinger of Charlotte and Christine Davenport of Edenton and one brother, James Cahoon of Powhatan, Va.
Mrs. Brickhouse was preceded in death by one sister, Nina O’Brien and one brother, Eugene Cahoon.
A visitation will be held Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home, Edenton with son-in-law, the Rev. Dallas Smith, officiating.
