Mrs. Mablelene Davis Fennell, 57, of 349 N.C. Highway 99 North, Pantego, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at Beaufort County Hospital in Washington.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Macedonia Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Pantego with Elder Donald Peartree officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Fennell was born in Beaufort County on Jan. 15, 1951. She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Lenora McCloud Davis. She was a 1969 graduate of Pantego High School and did further studies at Beaufort County Community College in Washington and Model Cities in New York. On June 29, 1987, she married Arthur Roy Fennell, who preceded her in death Nov. 24, 1996. She retired as a secretary with New York City Department of Education. She was a member of the New York chapter of the Beaufort County Alumni Association. She was a member of Macedonia Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Pantego.
Survivors include one son, Arthur Fennell of Pantego; one stepdaughter, Tonya Fennell of Georgia; one goddaughter, Kikwanda Dekattu; one son-in-kind, Kenneth E. Davis Jr.; two sisters, Carolyn Y. McCloud and Vicy Davis, both of Pantego; three brothers, Kenneth E. Davis of Belhaven and Melvin Davis and James Davis, both of Pantego and three stepgrandchildren.
The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
The family will receive friends at the home of her sister, Vicy Davis, 376 Morning Star Road, Pantego.
Arrangements are by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
