Mr. Brian Colin Alligood, age 32, a resident of 5907 Slatestone Road, Washington died Monday evening, August 25, 2008 at his home.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2008 at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home in Washington officiated by Mike Caton. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.
Daniel Hudson, Ken Harris, B.G. Woolard, David Tripp, Paul Cosentino and Eddie Gurganus will serve as pallbearers. Employees of the Department of Transportation will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Brian was born in Beaufort County on August 19, 1976, son of Neil Colin Alligood and Brenda Cox Alligood. He was employed with the NC Department of Transportation. Brian was a member of Rosemary Church of Christ and the State Employees Association of North Carolina. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved deer hunting, bird hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, Neil and Brenda Alligood of the home; Brian is survived by his brother, Brad Alligood and his wife, Lynn of Washington and his maternal grandmother, Margie Keel and her husband, Clayton of Washington. He is also survived by his nephew, Parker Alligood and his niece, Olivia Alligood whom he dearly loved. Brian was also survived by numerous aunts and uncles.
Brian was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Etheridge and Maebelle Alligood and his maternal grandfather, Kelly Cox.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Paul Funeral Home in Washington and other times at the home, located at 5907 Slatestone Road, Washington.
