Mrs. April Renee Torres, 30, of 1882 Jackson Swamp Road, Bath died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Paul Funeral Home, Washington with pastors Danny Robertson and Ron Estes officiating. Burial will follow in St. Clair’s Church of Christ cemetery. Chris Craddock, Ron Toppin Jr., Jamie Best, Jeremy Eldridge, Joseph “Bird” Smith and Melvin Rattler will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jullie Rattler, Michelle Smith, Brandi Cordon, Cathie Nixon, Amie Craddock, Brandy Kinion and Crystal Grimes.
Mrs. Torres was born in Beaufort County on April 2, 1978. She was the daughter of Paula Williams Boyd and Edward Kent Billups. She was a 1998 graduate of Northside High School. On April 24, 2004, she married Jose F. Torres, who survives. She was a member of River City Christian Center of Washington.
Survivors include two sons, Alex Goudie and Gabriel Torres of Bath; one sister, Stacey Adams Roberson of Washington; one brother, Lyn Billups of Belhaven; her stepfather, Bert Boyd; two step brothers, Allen Boyd of Chocowinity; and Clay Boyd of Washington and her grandfather, Frank Billups of Belhaven.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Paul Funeral Home, Washington and other times at the home of her mother, 1882 Jackson Swamp Road, Bath.
