Mr. James “Jay” William Lilley

Mr. James “Jay” William Lilley, age 78, a resident of 143 Dan Taylor Road, Washington, died Wednesday evening, August 27, 2008 at his home.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday August 30, 2008 at Wares Chapel United Methodist Church officiated by Gary Murphree. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
Mr. Lilley was born in Beaufort County on October 23, 1929 son of the late Leslie Lilley and Annie Rachel Latham Lilley. He attended the Old Ford and Washington High Schools. On December 31, 1965, he married the former Jean Carol Curtis who survives. Mr. Lilley was an insurance salesman with Coastal Plains and United Insurance. He was a member of Wares Chapel United Methodist Church.
In addition to this wife, Jean, of the home, he is survived by his son, Gary Lilley and his wife, Andrea of Greenville; his brother, Ray Lilley and his wife, Sylvia of Washington and his grandchildren, Jason Lilley, Jamie Lilley, Brandie Lilley, Kayla Lilley and Zachary Lilley. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Jerry Wayne Lilley.
The family will receive friends 6:30-8 p.m. Friday at Paul Funeral Home in Washington and other times at the home.
