Mira Louise Watson Cahoon, 82, of Engelhard, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2008, at Cross Creek Health Care in Swan Quarter.
Born in Fairfield, May 27, 1926, she was the daughter of the late John Clifton and Sallie Gibbs Watson. She was married to Lancy M. Cahoon, who survives. She was born blind and yet, in a courageous spirit, was a devoted wife and wonderful mother to the five children she reared. She was a member of the former Fairfield Baptist Church.
A private family service will be held at a later date as she requested.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Gregory M. Cahoon and wife, Renee, of Mountville, S.C. and John K. Cahoon of Pinetown; three daughters, Debbie C. Gibbs and husband, Billy, of Engelhard, Wanda C. Berry and husband, Jeffrey, of Fairfield, and Twylia C. Carawan and husband, Rhea, of Fairfield; a brother, Thomas Watson and wife, Jean, of Baltimore, Md.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Allan Watson; two half-brothers, Ellis Williams and Bernie Williams; three half-sisters, Claudie Bell Bell, Lola Armstrong and Mary Christine.
Arrangements are by Bryan Funeral Service, Swan Quarter.
