Mr. Roscoe Leroy Stallings Jr., 87, a resident of 2091 N.C. Highway 171, Jamesville, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at his home.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Ellis and the Revs. Paul Weaver and Doug Stokes officiating. Burial will follow in Jamesville Cemetery.
Mr. Stallings was born Nov. 26, 1920, in Martin County. He was the son of the late Roscoe D. Stallings Sr. and Dare Sexton Stallings. He was a self-employed auto mechanic. He was a member of Cedar Branch Baptist Church. He served in the Army during World War II. He married Eva Kiff on May 30, 1958. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, the Rev. William Joseph Stallings of Wilson and Mark Allen Stallings of Bear Grass; two sisters, Marion S. Bradley of Jamesville and Dean Reynolds of of Fulton, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Cedar Branch Baptist Church and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to the Jamesville Rescue Squad.
