George Kirby Holloman, age 81, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, N.C.
Mr. Holloman retired as an employee of the City of Kinston, having been superintendent of the Kinston power plant and the wells and waterworks department. He was a member of Northwest Christian Church.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at Northwest Christian Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Rouse officiating. Interment will be at Westview Cemetery.
He was the son of the late Ben S. Holloman and Nancy Smith Holloman. He is survived by his wife, Pearl Worrell Holloman, of the home; a son, Ronald Kirby Holloman and wife, Elaine, of Washington, N.C.; a daughter; Betty H. Sawyer and husband, David, of Johnston County, N.C.; two sisters; Lucille Robinson of Kinston, N.C., and Bonnie Boone of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three grandchildren, Eve Honeycutt and husband, James, of Snow Hill, N.C., Rebecca Liverman and husband, Trey, of Columbia, N.C., and George Sawyer of Johnston County, N.C.; a great-grandchild, Wriston Kirby Honeycutt.
The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 p.m. until service time at Northwest Christian Church.
