VANCEBORO — Mrs. Virginia Dare Mitchell Koonce, 72, died Friday, September 26, 2008.
A graveside service will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. in Epworth United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Koonce, a native of Craven County, had lived all her life in the Vanceboro community. She attended Haw Branch Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Koonce and a daughter, Lois Ann Koonce.
She is survived by her: daughter, Hazel K. Boyd, of Wilmar; sons, Larry C. Koonce and wife, Vivian, of Dunn, W. Thomas Koonce and wife, Mary, of San Diego, CA, and Carl S. Koonce and wife, Tina, of Sanford; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Augatah McLawhorn, of Havelock, and Beulah Mitchell, of Alliance, NC; and brother, Allen Mitchell, of Alliance, NC.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Vanceboro.
