Mr. Charlie H. Bundy Sr., 82, of Creswell died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell with Thomas Biggs officiating. Burial will follow in Azalea Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Bundy was born in Pasquotank County, the son of the late Joshua and Shirley Morris Bundy. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was married to Dixie Kathleen Bundy, who preceded him in death. He later married Alma Belch, who survives. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Mount Herman Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Charlie H. Bundy Jr. of Creswell; one stepson, Troy H. Sutton of Creswell; two daughters, Dixie B. Armstrong of Creswell and Charleen B. Hassell of Roper; one stepdaughter, Linda Thompson of Creswell; two sisters, Elizabeth Gaskins and Gloria Fountain of Elizabeth City; one half sister, Ethel Balance of Woodville; one brother, Alton Bundy of Elizabeth City; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Tammy Bundy; one half sister, Gracie White; and three brothers, Earl Bundy, Joshua Bundy Jr. and Wilton Bundy.
The family will receive friends today from 7-9 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell and other times at the home.
