Mrs. Avon Howard Everett of 119 Hill St., Williamston, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in Mount Zion Holy Church, Williamston, with Elder Mardrecius D. Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Williamston.
Mrs. Everett was born in Martin County on Sept. 6, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Ashley Howard and Carrie Peele Howard Scott. She was married to Roosevelt Everett Sr., who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Mount Zion Holy Church, where she was a member of the choir, the Motherboard and the evangelistic department.
Survivors include four sons, Earl Everett and Roosevelt Everett Jr., both of Williamston, Dallas Everett of Monroe and Ernest Everett of Rich Square; two daughters, Toni Everett of Weldon and Terri Perry of Williamston; two sisters, Judith Johnson of Bronx, N.Y., and Algie Jenkins of Queens, N.Y.; two brothers, Charles Scott of Fayetteville and John Howard of Queens, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by eight sisters.
Viewing will take place Sunday from 11:50 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. at Mount Zion Holy Church, Williamston.
