Mr. James Lee Credle, 61, of 7100 Sladesville Credle Road, Scranton, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in St. John Baptist Church, Scranton, with Elders Anthony Roper and James Stanley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Credle was born in Hyde County on March 3, 1947. He was the son of Victoria Silverthorne Credle and the late Wilbert Lee Credle. He was a 1965 graduate of the O.A. Peay High School in Swan Quarter. He was an Army veteran. On Jan. 20, 1969, he married Sadie Hardy Credle, who survives. He had been employed as a district manager with Hi-Gear Auto in Maryland. In North Carolina, he retired as a store manager with Advance Auto Co. He was a lifelong member of St. John Baptist Church, Scranton.
Survivors include one son, James Darryl Credle of Waldorf, Md.; two brothers, Glen Thomas Credle of Scranton and Wilbert Credle Jr. of Roxboro and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home.
Arrangements will be announced by Randolph Funeral Home, 219 N. Bonner St., Washington.
