Mr. Marshall Blango, Jr., 30, of 735 Core Point Road, Blounts Creek died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Saint Anna Missionary Baptist Church, Blounts Creek with Elder John Ponds officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Blango was born in Beaufort County on Sept. 18, 1978. He was the son of Marshall Blango Sr. and Allene Hill Moore. He attended S.W. Snowden Elementary and Aurora High School. He was a 1996 graduate of the N.C. School of Science and Math in Durham and a 2000 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was employed with the Pitt County public school system as a teacher assistant. He was a member of Wares Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Blounts Creek.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Marshall Blango Sr. and Lola Blango of Blounts Creek; his mother and stepfather, Allene Hill Moore and Artis Moore Jr. of Edward; and three sisters, Monica Blango Ponds of Aurora, Veronica Blango Smith of Greenville and Shakila Aldridge Jones of Rocky Mount.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8 p.m. at Whitfield &Whitley Funeral Home, Washington and other times at the home.
