PLYMOUTH — Lavonne Shamblin Ragland, 98, of Plymouth, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 at Plumblee Nursing Center in Plymouth.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Maitland Memorial Chapel in Plymouth with the Rev. Steve Creech officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Ragland was born in Strange Creek, W.Va. She was the daughter of the late Tom Shamblin and Nora Tolbert Shamblin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton E. Ragland; brothers, Carmel O. Shamblin and Ralph Shamblin. Mrs. Ragland was a retired registered nurse with Washington County Hospital and Weyerhaeuser Corporation for 40 years. She was a member of the Plymouth Church of the Nazarene and served as a choir member.
Survivors include one son, Thomas H. Ragland; one sister, Phyllis Hull of Webster Springs, W.Va.; one brother, Forrest Shamblin of Sutton, W.Va.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Maitland Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Plymouth Church of the Nazarene.
