EDENTON — Mr. Sheldon Samuel Spencer, 53, of 512 South Road Street, Columbia, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008 at Chowan Hospital in Edenton.
A funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Zion Grove Church of Christ in Columbia with Elder Rodney Williams officiating.
Burial will follow at the church’s cemetery.
Mr. Spencer was born on Feb. 8, 1955 in Tyrrell County. He was the son of Elizabeth Spencer and Samual Spencer, Jr., who survive. He was a carpenter.
Survivors include five daughters, Decarolo Sykes of Newport News, Va., Tina S. Pickett of Elizabeth City, Tia Spencer of Durham, Sheena Leigh of Raleigh, Shatawna Spencer of Columbia; four brothers, Mitchell Spencer, Stevie Spencer, Stanley Spencer, all of Columbia, Kerry Spencer of New York; three sisters, Beverline Greene of New Jersey, Kathy Spruill of Creswell, Kimberly Spencer of Columbia; and maternal grandmother, Eulah Gibbs of Columbia; five grandchildren.
