Mr. James Guilford Smith, 76, formerly of Belhaven, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at Plumblee Nursing Center of Plymouth.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Pamlico Beach Community Cemetery at Ryder Hill officiated by the Rev. Dean Fulford Jr.
Mr. Smith was born in Pitt County on Oct. 15, 1931. He was the son of the late James “Willie” Smith and Miriam A. Foster. He attended Belhaven Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include one brother, Carlton Smith of Belhaven.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Catherine Smith Nixon.
