Mr. Robert Dalton Walker, 81, of Aurora, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at Craven Regional Medical Center in New Bern.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Rufus H. Walker and Edna Walker and one brother, R.H. Walker Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Robena Midgett Walker, who he married on Jan. 24, 1948; three daughters, Yvonne Swain and husband John of Chesapeake, Va., Avonne Quinn and husband Robert, and Patty Davis and husband Skip, all of Aurora; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two brothers, Thomas Walker and Webster Walker, both of Aurora.
He was a member and Elder of Mary’s Chapel Christian Church, and an active member of the Gideons. He was a retired PCS Timberland Supervisor.
The family will receive friends at Bryant Funeral Home of Alliance on Thursday, Oct. 23, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at Mary’s Chapel Christian Church at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Mike Oliver and grandson, the Rev. Jeff Swain, officiating. Burial will follow at Walls-Rowe Cemetery on Walls Mill Road.
