Mr. Archie Grey Rowe, age 80, a resident of 1661 Mill Road, Chocowinity, NC died Saturday October 25, 2008 at his home.
A funeral will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday October 28, 2008 at Trinity Episcopal Church of Chocowinity officiated by The Reverend Sonny Browne. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens of Washington. David Elks, Charlie Elks, Johnnie Lewis, Rabon Tripp, Hank Hamilton and Edmund Guthrie will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Rowe was born in Beaufort County on August 8, 1928 son of the late Arnett Rowe and the late Mable Stubbs Rowe. He was a 1945 graduate of Aurora High School. Mr. Rowe married the former Emily “Jeannette” Elks on March 8, 1953 who survives. He was owner and operator of Archie Rowe Trucking until his retirement. Mr. Rowe was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
Surviving along with Mr. Rowe’s wife Jeannette of the home are two daughters: Terri A. Rowe of Chocowinity and Dona S. Rowe of Washington; a son: Archie “Grey” Rowe, Jr. of Chocowinity; a brother: Jack A. Rowe of Chocowinity and five grandchildren: Travis A. Sheppard, Ashton G. Hamilton, Victoria B. Hamilton, Leah M. Rowe and Mason G. Rowe.
The family will receive friends 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Monday October 27, 2008 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and at other times at the home.
