COLUMBIA — Mrs. Vallery Sykes, 43, of 1417 Fort Landing Road, Columbia, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 at Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. at Alligator Chapel Baptist Church on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008 with minister Wilford Combs officiating. Burial will follow at the Community Cemetery.
Mrs. Sykes was born on Nov. 17, 1964 in Tyrrell County to Clarstine and James D. Bryant, who survive. She was a nurse assistant.
Survivors include four brothers, Otis Sykes of Columbia, Wilbert Sykes of Washington, Judson Bryant of Columbia, Tony Swain of Plymouth; seven sisters, Florence Bryant, Tammy Bryant, Etta Pledger, Queenie Combs, Dianne Sykes, Nikka Lee, Gwen Marner, all of Columbia.
