CRESWELL — Mrs. Elsie Patrick Armstrong, 91, of Creswell, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008 at Plumblee Nursing Center in Plymouth.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Maitland Funeral Home Chapel in Creswell with Mark Wilmoth and Leon Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Azalea Memorial Gardens.
Born in Pasquotank County, Mrs. Armstrong was the daughter of the late Webb and Sue Chesson Patrick. She was a homemaker and member of the Albemarle Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip A. Armstrong Sr.; one daughter, Linda A. Sawyer; two sisters, Cora Cahoon and Lillie Mae Barnes; two brothers, Sam Patrick and Lindsey Patrick.
Survivors include two daughters, Audrey A. Midgette of Belhaven, Essie A. Rath of Roper, three sons, Phil A. Armstrong Jr. of Creswell, Royce Armstrong and Larry Armstrong of Chesapeake, Va.; one sister, Mildred Cooper of Virginia Beach, Va.; thirteen grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her daughter, Essie A. Rath.
