SPARTANBURG, SC: On November 24, 2008, Ida Mary Brantley Edwards of 1065 Maryland Avenue went to be with her Lord and Savior. A native of Aurora, North Carolina, she was born July 8, 1909 to Robert and Ida Brantley. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Aurora, NC.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Wallace Edwards.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Bea and Ray Dillard of Spartanburg, a grandson Ray Dillard, Jr. and wife Terri, a grandson Lee Dillard and wife Kathy, a granddaughter Brantlee Dillard Fulmer and husband Danny. Great grandchildren Ray Dillard, III, Anna Claire Dillard, Mary Katherine Dillard, Emma Grace Dillard and Zane Fulmer, all of Spartanburg.
She was the matriarch of her family and held in high esteem and affectionately called “Grandma” by many that knew her and loved her.
A ceremony of celebration and thanksgiving for the life she led and the lives she touched will be held Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Paul Funeral Home in Washington, North Carolina. Receiving of friends will begin at 10 a.m., with the service to follow at 11 a.m.
The family is at the home, 1065 Maryland Ave., Spartanburg, SC
She will be dearly missed.
