Ronald “Bolt” Hardy

Mr. Ronald Earl “Bolt” Hardy, age 63, a resident of 1671 NC 102 Hwy. West, Chocowinity, NC died Sunday November 30, 2008 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A funeral will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday December 3, 2008 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington officiated by Rev. Jerry Smith. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Greg Fulcher, Anthony Fulcher, Keith Barr, Joey Barr, Ross Chandler, Tommy Rowe and Keith Weatherington will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Hardy was born in Beaufort County on February 24, 1945 son of the late John Henry Hardy and the late Gladys Hodges Hardy. He married the former Brenda Carol Dixon on July 6, 1970 who survives. Mr. Hardy was the Owner/Operator of Hardy’s Country Mart in Chocowinity and Dixon’s Service Station in Vanceboro. He was a member of Pollard Swamp Hunting Club and Gorham Swamp Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving along with his wife Brenda of the home is a son: Kenneth Earl Hardy of Chocowinity; a daughter: Angela Hardy Manning and her husband Travis of Chocowinity; a brother: Marvin Ray Hardy of Washington; a sister: Janice Hardy Hodges of Washington and three grandchildren: Ashley Dawn Hardy, Johnathan Tyler Hardy and Damian Wayne Squires. Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by a sister: Barbara Barr Lewis.
The family will receive friends 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday December 2, 2008 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and at other times at the home of Mr. Hardy’s son, Kenneth Hardy located 1665 NC 102 Hwy. West, Chocowinity, NC.
