Mr. Robert C. Grimes of 6199 Clarks Neck Road, Washington, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at Beaufort County Medical Center in Washington.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Little Grove Holiness Church with pastor Goldie Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Whitfield &Whitley Cemetery.
Mr. Grimes was born July 9, 1947, the son of the late Leroy and Alberta Barnhill Grimes. He attended the Beaufort County Schools. He was married to Mary W. Grimes, who survives.
Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Grimes and Nakia G. Davis, both of Washington; one son, Michael Brown of Pittsburg, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Cynthia Waters and Maurisa Pritchard, both of Greenville; three stepsons, Leo V. White, Calvin Griffin and Theodore Griffin, all of Greenville; four sisters, Betsy White of Washington, Dorothy Grimes of Greenville, Edna Stokes of Newark, N.J., and Shirley Smith of Bloomfield, N.J.; one brother, Willie B. Grimes of Washington; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Grayson and Alice Marie Grimes and four brothers, Leroy Grimes Jr., Edward L. Grimes, Walter Grimes and Willie J. Grimes.
Viewing will take place today from 2-6 p.m. at Leon Randolph Funeral Home, 208 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Washington.
