Mrs. Regnah Halese Savage Green died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, in Decatur, Ga.
A celebration of Mrs. Green’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in New Life Baptist Church, Lithonia, Ga. Interment will follow in Decatur, Ga.
Mrs. Green was born in Pantego on Sept. 18, 1918. She was the daughter of Jessie Plum Savage and Vergia Godley Savage. She was a graduate of Beaufort County High School in Pantego. She was married to John Green, who preceded her in death. She worked for the school system in Brooklyn, N.Y., until her retirement in 1978, at which time she and her husband moved to Georgia. She was a charter member of the N.Y. Chapter of the historic Beaufort County High School Alumni Association. She was a member of Weeping Mary Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ), Pantego.
Survivors include two brothers, George Savage and James Russell Savage, both of Stone Mountain, Ga.
She was preceded in death by five siblings, Hildred S. James, Jesse Savage, Frank Savage, Lida S. Hassell and Erma S. Ghee.
