Rebecca Anne Brabble George, 49, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mrs. George was a member of Strong Tower Ministries where she was one of the lead singers for the Praise and Worship team. She was also the Children’s Church Administrator for many years and taught numerous children. She started Sonshine Christian Childcare Center in 1996, which continues to serve Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania counties.
Her smile reached out and captured the hearts of many old and young. She was a mother figure to all those in need of faith and guidance. She served her community with pride for many years. Her spirit will live on and continue to be a shining light in a world of darkness, the armor in the heart of the battle, and the strength when we feel weak.
Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Danny R. George; her children, Leah Anne Spruill, Danny Ray George, Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, and Jacob Aaron George, all of Fredericksburg; her father and stepmother, James Obed and Betty Lou Brabble, of Washington, North Carolina; her brother, James (Jay) Obed Brabble, Jr. of Chocowinity, North Carolina; her sister, Anna Gale Brabble of Tick Bite, North Carolina; and two grandchildren, Cade Paul Thomas Londeree, Olivia Faith George, and another grandson on the way.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Julia Anne Brown Brabble.
A service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 17 at Strong Tower Ministries with the Rev. Kevin Mihfled. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16 at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Sonshine Child Care Center, 2301 Jefferson Davis Highway, Fredericksburg, Virginia, 22401.
