WILLIAMSTON — Catherine Bullock Jones, 80, died Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Community Christian Church with Chris Minton officiating; burial will follow at Martin Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Jones was born in Martin County on June 29, 1928 to the late Marcellus &Fannie Gurganus Bullock. She was a member of the Community Christian Church and was retired from Southern Apparel in Robersonville.
On July 3, 1946 she was married to C. Ernest Jones who died October 10, 2006. A son, Oliver Gene Jones also preceded her in death on September 13, 1991.
She is survived by a daughter, Ann Powell &husband Clifton of Robersonville; a son, Ernest Jones Jr. of the home; a sister, Mary Bryant of Conetoe; grandchildren, Steven Gene Jones &wife Wendy of Williamston, Christina Knox &husband Timmy of Jamesville, Clifton Lee Powell &wife Melissa of Tarboro, and Jody Lyn Powell &wife Lindsay of Winterville; great-grandchildren, Jessica Jones, Michael Knox, Christen Knox, Gabriel Jones &Garrett Jones.
Family will receive friends Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the residence 1436 View Nicholson Road. Arrangements by Biggs Funeral Home.
