VANCEBORO, NC — Margaret Maness Nanney, 65, went to meet her Heavenly Father Sunday, December 14, 2008. A native of Onslow County, Margaret was the office manager at the Aurora Piggly Wiggly for 22 years, retiring last year. When not working, Margaret enjoyed working in her yard, watching a Carolina game, spending time with her girls, and her favorite boys, her grandsons.
A celebration of Margaret’s life will be 4 p.m., Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Pollock~Best Chapel.
Margaret is survived by her mother, Ruth Smithwick Bartholomew, of Mt. Holly; daughters, Lisa Maness, of New Bern; Margaret “Sissy” Maness, of Vanceboro; Paula Weir and husband Doug, of Vanceboro; her loving companion of 23 years, Charles “Charlie” Hollowell, of Aurora; sisters, Margie Ford, of Albany, GA; Ann Klapp, of Plymouth, IN; Mary Loudermilk, of Mt. Holly, and her loving grandsons, Blake Tatum and Douglas Weir, Jr.
