Ms. Betty Haywood Courtney, 93, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008.
A retired music teacher, she was born Feb. 18, 1915, in Montgomery. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church for 67 years.
She is survived by a son, Benjamin H. Courtney of Williamston; a sister, Dorothy H. Corey of Westwood, Mass.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston.
A funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Memorial Baptist Church. The rev. Robbie Parker and the rev. Dean Harrell will preside, and burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
