William J. “Joe” Ferguson

Mr. William Joseph “Joe” Ferguson, age 80, a resident of 113 Hodges Rd., Washington, died Thursday, December 25, 2008 at his home.
Mr. Ferguson was born in Parsons, KS on April 29, 1928 to the late William and Clementine Schibi Ferguson. He served in the United States Navy on the USS North Carolina. On January 20, 1950 he married Jean Frances Williams who survives. He was employed by Dillon Supply Co., Gregory Poole and Dougherty Equipment Co. where he worked for 21 years and was still employed. He was considered by the many that knew him to be an expert in firearms.
Survivors include his wife Jean W. Ferguson of the home, two daughters, Elizabeth Hill and husband Roger of Chocowinity, Patricia Williamson and husband Wayne of Greenville; two sons, Robert Ferguson of Macon, GA, William Joseph “Joe” Ferguson and wife Angie of Hampstead; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Anne Barefoot.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and other times at the home. A private service will be held at a later time.
