Mrs. Frances K. Rumley

Mrs. Frances Kugler “Franke” Rumley, age 66, a resident of 404 Kugler Kamp Road, Hawkins Beach, Washington, died Friday, January 2, 2009 at Beaufort County Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church, Washington conducted by Rev. Darryl Evans.
Mrs. Rumley was born in Washington, N.C. on April 1, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Frank Cannon Kugler, Jr. and Viola Freeman Kugler. Mrs. Rumley graduated from Washington High School. She attended Salem College and graduated from East Carolina College in 1965. On August 8, 1965, she married Lee Stewart Rumley.
For the next 30 years, Mrs. Rumley was a dedicated military wife and mother. They lived in Elizabeth City, NC, Pensacola, FL, Corpus Christi, TX, Port Angeles, Washington, Washington, D.C., Mobile, AL, and Borinquen, Puerto Rico. The Rumleys retired in 1995 and moved back to Washington, N.C.
Mrs. Rumley was very active in the Presbyterian church wherever she lived. She served as a deacon at the Spring Hill Presbyterian Church in Mobile, Alabama. She was a member of the Circles of the church. Mrs. Rumley was very talented and artistic. She used those talents to start the Banner program at the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband, L. Stewart Rumley of the home; two daughters, Mary Charlotte “Crickett” Rumley of Los Angeles, CA, Vail Stewart Rumley and her husband, Chris Nappi of Washington; twin sons, Lee Kugler Rumley, William Stewart Rumley and his wife, Kim all of Camby, Indiana; a granddaughter, Lily Frances Rumley of Camby, Indiana; two sisters, Vail Kugler Hawkins and Reid Kugler Solomon both of Hawkins Beach, Washington and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rumley was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Kugler Ross.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington and other times at the home, 404 Kugler Kamp Road, Washington.
