AYDEN — Mrs. Mollie Edna Brinn Burbage, 91, a former resident of Grifton and Beaufort County, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009 at Britthaven of Ayden.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2009 at St. Clair’s Church of Christ officiated by the Rev. David Cox and Craig Hagen. Burial will follow in the St. Clair’s Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Burbage was born in Beaufort County on Dec. 18, 1917, daughter of the late James Riley Brinn and the late Nancy Alice Hall Brinn. She married Heber Vashtie Burbage on Sept. 12, 1933, who preceded her in death on May 2, 1970. She attended Pantego and Bath high schools. Mrs. Burbage was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church in Grifton and the Christian Woman Fellowship.
Survivors include one daughter, Diane B. Stokes of Winterville; one son, Jimmy Burbage of Bath; one sister, Betty Paul of Washington; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Burbage was preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Niner and one brother, Don Brinn.
The family will receive friends following the service at St. Clair’s Church of Christ.
